Bio
Edwina Tops-Alexander is an Australian show-jumper known for her participation in three Olympics, finishing in the top ten twice. She is the first Australian to place in the top 10 at the World Equestrian Games and the first rider to earn more than €1 million in prize money on the Global Champions Tour.
Starting her competition career in her native Australia, Alexander’s talent made it clear that she was destined for great things from her first foray into the sport. In 1998, only three years after winning the highest honors available to a young Australian rider, Alexander moved to Belgium to train and compete at the highest levels.
She has competed in the Global Champions Tour (LGCT) since its inception in 2006, and has won the overall ranking in both 2011 and 2012. Alexander has represented Australia in four successive Olympic Games, including Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and now Tokyo 2020.
Alexander has won over 25 five star Grand Prix and World Cups throughout her career which has led to her becoming one of the best known equestrian athletes in the world. She lives with her husband and daughter at their training center in Belgium.
