Current NRHA Futurity Preliminary Round Leaders

With five days of competition completed at the State Fair Park, the finalists for the National Reining Horse Association Futurity are closer to being decided. On Monday, Dec. 2, the first section of the Open semi-finals was held, followed by the second section of the first go of the CINCH Non Pro Futurity.
With the first day of the semi-finals for Levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Open Futurity in the books, the field of potential finalists is narrowing. The top 30 composite scores from the go-round and Semi-Finals, including ties, will advance to the finals.
After the first day of semi-finals competition, Martin Larcombe and Drinkin Moonshine hold the top spot of the Level 3 Open with a 435.5 composite. Drinkin Moonshine, by Shine Chic Shine and out of Wimpy Little Girl, is owned by Lance Griffin.
Sitting second in the Level 3 and first in Levels 2 and 1 is Josh Tishman and Quik Draw McGraw with a 431.5. Quik Draw McGraw, owned by Jolan and Jody Puno, is by HF Mobster and out of Nestle Quik Chic.
The Non Pro leaders of the first section of the CINCH Non Pro Futurity preliminary round maintained their leads through the second section.
Leading the CINCH Non Pro Futurity preliminaries with 218 is Jessicah Keller. Keller is riding Snips Shining Gun, a 3-year-old mare by 2014 NRHA European Derby Open Champion Colonels Shining Gun out of Snip O Gun. Keller and Snips Shining Gun, owned by Hilldale Farm, marked a 218, which not only tops the Level 4 Non Pro, but also the Level 3 and Level 2.
Currently leading the Level 1 Non Pro is Janine Ketterer and her horse KR Smart Gal with a 216.5. KR Smart Gal is by Smart Spook and out of A Ruf Gal.
Topping the Prime Time Non Pro is Jim Morgan, DVM, and his mare Guns R For Girls with a 215.5. Guns R For Girls is by Guns R For Shootin and out of Dun Its Deja Vu.
In the Youth Non Pro, also with a 215.5, Taylor Zimmerman and Its All About Ruf lead the first go. The stallion, owned by Vaughn Zimmerman, is by Not Ruf At All and out of Dun Pretty Nifty.
